Películas Silenciosas

Delta actually has 2 Drive-In movie theaters, but this one has been closed for some time. I have been told that it did all the movies in Spanish, which does of course limit your potential audience somewhat. In the days of old speakers hanging on posts, perhaps 2 theaters was the best option if you had a large audience that would enjoy the movie more if played in Spanish. It seems to me that with today’s technology, they could just broadcast a 2nd station over the car radio. I love our old drive-in and would love to figure out ways to help them increase their audience, lest one day the land is worth more than the revenue it generates, and another one fades away.

Bill,
I like the warm light here.

Thanks for your input on the "Cell Phone" discussion. You brought some more positive views to the topic of this great little tool.

Yeah, I can see why you'd want to be carefull what you post in a town where everyone knows you ;)

Really nice shot Bill. Around here the drive in movie places have gone the way of the dodo bird. Malls have taken their place.

There is no drive-in here in Parker. However, during the summer, the city shows relatively recent movies in the park. Look for some photos of that in the next few weeks.

I have so many wonderful memories of going to the drive in movie, sometimes with my parents, sometimes with a date and his parents and sometimes with my girlfriends. Lots of fun memories of being out at night, relaxing, laughing and talking without bothering anyone else.

Sydney has two working drive-ins left. We took our son reently to see Pirates of the caribbean 3.

Here's my night at the drive-in:

There's some links there to a couple of cool drive-in sights too!

I agree - they could broadcast on 2 radio stations. Interestingly ours still had choice - radio or speaker in car.
