The world as viewed from a resident of Delta Colorado, including one year of daily photos, followed by whatever else caught my eye! Delta is a small city which sits where the deserts of Utah give way to the Rocky Mountains.

Awesome Bill, the shadow play is fascinating.
amazing!
i can only dream of being there
Kate, The Dobies are basically mud hills, a remnant of the ancient seabed. They don’t support much in the way of vegetation, motorcycles love them, and you don’t want to set foot on them if they are wet, as you will bring much of them home with you! They are more ore less neutral in color so they pick up ambient light very well, making them very fun to photograph, which I often do. This was made evident from a comment my brother made today saying: “Dobies and rivers. Got anything else over in delta?” If you do a search on this blog (field in upper left hand corner) for “Dobies”, you will find the 4 posts I have done on them, showing very different scenes.
Kate, To answer your second question, this was taken from our back yard.
BEEE-autiful!
This is amazing! I've never seen such a thing before! I thing I love those "dobies". And you can see them from your back yard! I'm impresed! I don't how it is to see them all day, 365 days a year, but I find those dobies wonderful and interesting! Well! Have a nice day though!
Great photo!! In this light Dobies looks like they are made of iron... very beautiful...
