Leftover Apples

Fall is about over, but someone forgot to tell the apples it was time to get a move on. However, in the United States, the today is “Thanksgiving Day”, and these apples will have good company as “leftovers” tend to abound on this day.

Even if it is not the official day to be thankful in your country, you may want to consider doing so anyway. There is no better way to start any day! So, happy Thanksgiving to my entire DP family, and thank you all for the work you each put into your blogs, and the many kind comments you have left on my site over the past few months.

And now, for some apple pie!!!!

Well, maybe I'd better wait for my company to arrive.

I thank you, Bill, for your visits and thoughtful comments.

Pleasure, Bill. Love the photo of those apples. Everything's late this year isn't it, it's so mild, well it is in the UK anyway. Thanks. Happy Thanksgiving.

I love this photo. I have one apple still hanging on my tree and need to go out and get a shot of it before it gives up and lets go.

Yes, really lovely photo. The cool blues, the soft gold, the subdued red of the apples... you can feel the cold yet it conveys the idea of yield. Truly amazing.
And yes, Australia is Australie in French.

PS - You know Bill, none other than the Americans celebrate Thanksgiving. It is completely part of your history, not of anyone else's in the world.

Actually, I thought a few other countries did observe a Thanksgiving holiday, just on a different day. Ah well, perhaps we have something to offer the rest of the world!

Bill! You learn the story of Thanksgiving in the first grade! I'm shocked that you think others celebrate it!

Pilgrims-Native Americans? Remember?

Now be nice, first grade was a long time ago, and I do recall something about guys in funny hats, slow boats, and uninsulated houses, but I also do know that Thanksgiving is celebrated on October 11th in Canada, and other countries have a harvest festival which is similar. I don’t think we have a lock on thankfulness. We probably do it up more formally than most however.

What an interesting picture Bill, I guess it's unusual to find apples so late in the year. One of these day's I swear I will educate myself and discover what your Thanksgiving Day is all about.

Have a good weekend!
